What We Provide

Hikers take in the view during the autumn season.You can choose to do a single adventure with Traverse Alaska or have us build your entire itinerary. Our home base is Denali, but we offer trips and expertise across Alaska by working with the highest-quality local guides, lodges and restaurants around the state. 

Our services include:

  • Custom and private adventures including but not limited to hiking, backpacking, rafting, packrafting, sea kayaking, dog mushing, fishing, glacier trekking and more. If you have an idea for an adventure, we’ll make it happen.
  • Custom and private transportation including black car service, train, plane, dog sled and snowmobile.
  • Lodging services including luxury cabins (Tonglen Lake Lodge), hotels, lodges, private yurts, and tents.  
  • Custom itinerary building with fully guided or partially guided options available.
  • Wilderness preparedness courses including an introduction to backcountry travel in Alaska, introduction to packrafting and swiftwater rescue certification.

After graduating from college, I moved to Alaska in 2006.

What do you love about guiding?
I enjoy watching people discover the Alaskan wilderness. It’s always fun seeing the landscape through the eyes of a visitor who have never been here before.

What are you most passionate about sharing when it comes to Alaska?
The way humans and wildlife interact together on the landscape. The subsistence lifestyle most Alaskans lead.

Traverse Alaska has created a talented team of amazing guides and staff with diverse skills. We are a small family! Everyday is different and I get to work in some of the most incredible wild places.

What I love most about guiding is the mystery. No matter where you explore, there is always something to talk about. Everything has a story and in some way contributes to the story of what’s around it, and I love being a part of that exploration with other curious nature lovers.

What are you most passionate about sharing when it comes to Alaska?
Alaska’s colorful history! From its geological formation to the evolution of the organisms that had to be extra tough to survive.
