“I had heard many people go on and on about how beautiful Alaska was and how much they enjoyed their vacations there. Maybe it was the countless cable tv shows about Alaska that finally convinced me that I had to see what all the rave was about.
I knew that I didn’t want my first visit to see this incredible land to be from the windows of a ship or tour bus. I discovered Traverse Alaska and contacted Joe. He was great in helping plan the adventure.
It seems as though we did more in 10 days than all my other vacations combined. From Anchorage, to Homer to Denali to Talkeetna, we did it all. Hiking, biking, fishing, sea kayaking, camping, powering up a glacial river on an air boat, pack rafting, post holing through snow, sliding down a mountain through 2 feet of snow in 75 degree weather were some of the activities we enjoyed.
Joe’s knowledge of the history, wildlife, flowers and geography coupled with his extreme flexibility to alter plans to accommodate us made the trip even more incredible.
