Erica Goad joins the Traverse Alaska team

June 1, 2018

We are excited to announce that Erica Goad is joining the Traverse Alaska team this summer!

Erica has a background in wildlife biology and ecology, most recently working on projects surveying Dall sheep and wolves in Denali National Park. Last winter she volunteered for the Denali National Park Dog Kennel, mushing sled dog teams in the Park, including a spring mushing trip to Wonder Lake.

Erica says she loves immersing herself in wild places, discovering something new every day, and sharing those inspiring experiences with other people. Whether it’s exploring mountains, rivers and valleys by foot, ski or bike, observing wildlife in their natural habitat, learning about cultural history, or bending down to enjoy each unique wildflower, Alaska has many powerful stories to tell to willing listeners.

If you guessed a few days ago—you are correct! It still looks like winter in some areas in Denali right now. We’re actually skiing to scout some of our summer area routes. As always, we are ready to adapt to whatever Mother Nature decides to throw our way and have a great time outside (even if it means using our winter gear for getting around!).

If you’re coming to Denali in the early season—prepare for there to be snow!
