After taking the Alaska Railroad from Fairbanks to Denali, we were met by Jan who had called us the day before to introduce herself and welcome us.Jan is simply amazing. After she asked us our preferences, we told her we’d like to hike a bit after the train ride and we did. The hike was a perfect amount of time, not difficult, and exactly what we hoped for. Our 30 minutes at the Visitor Center reinforced everything she had told us. We honestly learned it all from her first!
The outstanding part of this hike, comparable to the environmental beauty, was Jan’s incredible knowledge of everything we encountered, or didn’t encounter, on the hike as it relates to Alaska. She is a wealth of knowledge and an expert at communication, being both clear and concise! She is an absolutely delightful woman whom we will forever associate with our trip to Denali!
