Custom Adventures

Custom adventures generally fall into two categories:

  • Custom itineraries, primarily lodge-based adventures where we plan daily activities and coordinate lodging. Explore all that Alaska has to offer and come home to a warm bed each night.
  • Custom backcountry, multi-day trips, primarily tent-based adventures where we plan a variety of backcountry activities based on your interests and desired activity level.

Custom Itineraries

Let Traverse Alaska plan your entire Alaska trip (or a portion of your Alaska trip) from start to finish.  All itineraries are personalized to meet your needs and interests whether you want a week off the grid in a remote lodge or a sample of Alaska’s best coastal towns. Our team works with you to build your dream getaway. Our itineraries can include a Traverse Alaska guide for the duration of your visit or be a mix of guided and independent adventures

Custom, Backcountry Multi-day Trips

Are you looking for an extended and challenging adventure in the backcountry? Custom, backcountry multi-day trips can incorporate a variety of backcountry travel methods including but not limited to: backpacking, rafting and bush plane service to a remote location. Our backcountry multi-day trips are generally tent-based adventures. Visitors will be exposed to the Alaskan elements for the duration of their trip. Our backcountry trips include all camp gear (tents, tarp, cook stove) and food.

If you guessed a few days ago—you are correct! It still looks like winter in some areas in Denali right now. We’re actually skiing to scout some of our summer area routes. As always, we are ready to adapt to whatever Mother Nature decides to throw our way and have a great time outside (even if it means using our winter gear for getting around!).

If you’re coming to Denali in the early season—prepare for there to be snow!
