“On our honeymoon this past July, my wife and I we staying at the Tonglen Lake Lodge (highly recommended) while visiting Denali National Park. After doing and seeing all that Denali Park had to offer we were still very anxious to see what else Alaska had to offer. That’s when we found Traverse Alaska and just when we thought our trip couldn’t get any better, Joe proved us wrong.
Joe met my wife and I for a morning coffee to get to know us and plan a backcountry adventure specific to our likes and abilities (wife was 4 months pregnant). After chatting for a bit Joe offered up a couple options he felt best fit for us and explained in full detail what to expect from each option. The difficult part was deciding which custom adventure to choose. Joe gave us a list of items to bring, and our adventure began the very next morning!
The trip we took with Traverse Alaska was an incredible opportunity to see inside the heart of Alaska and go where only very few people have traveled before. The views were breathtaking, wildlife in it’s true environment and Joe is extremely knowledgeable with the history and geography of Alaska. All the equipment was clean, very well organized and at no point did we ever feel in any danger.
This was by far the highlight of our entire trip to Alaska and would highly recommend taking a custom backcounty adventure with Joe and Traverse Alaska. This truly was an opportunity of a lifetime and we can’t wait to visit Alaska again!”
